Hyundai India has launched the Hyundai Tucson with Intellimatic four-wheel drive in addition to the already existing models on sale. The four-wheel drive Tucson has been priced at Rs.25.19 lakhs . Hyundai will offer the four-wheel drive option on the top-spec 2.0-litre GLS automatic variant.
The Tucson offers ‘On-Demand four-wheel drive functioning’ which means that the SUV automatically understands when there is need for four-wheel drive to be engaged, by assessing the nature of the terrain and implements traction control on the rear wheels. The engine distributes the power to all wheels without the driver needing to intervene.
The company says that the on-demand four-wheel drive also helps the SUV to be more economical along with optimizing the wear and tear on the mechanical parts of the vehicle. You also have the option to engage four-wheel drive lock mode manually, resulting in 50:50 distribution of torque between the front and rear wheels. In addition, Hyundai will also be offering what it calls Advanced Traction Cornering Control, which helps to transfer the maximum amount of torque to the wheel having the maximum grip.
