The EV6 which is introduced in India comes packed with a 77.4 kWh battery. The model will be offered in two configurations, a rear-wheel-drive single motor drivetrain & an all-wheel-drive with dual motors.

The EV6 offers a driving range of 528 Km on a single charge. Considering the alternatives in our domestic market and the current EV charging infrastructure. This figure definitely helps the EV6 in assuring the owners of a stress-free ownership experience, without experiencing range anxiety.

The EV6 is offered in two configurations, a rear-wheel-drive single motor drivetrain & an all-wheel-drive with dual motors. The EV6 develops 229 HP & 350 Nm of torque with the single motor and the AWD dual-motor model produces 325 HP & 605 Nm of torque. The EV 6 is capable of doing 0-100 Km/h in just 5.2 seconds and it comes with an electronically limited top speed of 192 Km/h. These are surely some strong performance figures for an EV.

Features

The EV6 comes with mind-blowing practical features, the key feature that needs to be highlighted is the Vehicle-to-Load charging capability. What that means is, that the EV6 is capable of charging electronic devices in the car via standard electric ports, and in fact, it is even capable of charging other EVs. The other features include a curved digital instrument cluster, heads-up display, wide sunroof, and ventilated seats.

Fast Charging

The EV6 is powered by a 77.4 kWh battery pack and it can be charged with a 50kW charger which can recharge the battery from 10-80% in just 73 minutes & a 350kW fast charger which can recharge the same in just 18 minutes. With the growing EV charging infra, this quick charge time is the need of the hour, for the owners to have the best cruising experience.

Weaknesses of Kia EV6

Import Duties

The EV6 is currently not being manufactured locally, instead is being imported. Which attracts heavy import taxes and eventually, the customers bear the brunt of the high price tag. The EV6 is currently priced at Rs 59.95 Lakhs for the RWD variant & Rs 64.95 Lakhs for the AWD variant.

Rear Seat Comfort

The EV6 rear seats are designed to offer a flat surface for maximum boot space when folded. This does compromise the seat comfort for the rear passengers. Not that the seats are unbearable, but this is a point which needs to be mentioned.

BMW i4

The BMW i4 is not a direct competitor to the EV6 in terms of its body style and the segment, but the price range makes them a direct competitor. The BMW i4 is priced at Rs 69.9 Lakhs (ex-showroom) and it is offered with an RWD configuration.

To conclude the SWOT Analysis Review of the 2022 Kia EV6, it can be rightly said that Kia India has stepped in the right direction towards offering the best of the EVs to our domestic market. The futuristic design, features, performance & safety, will surely attract EV enthusiast and probably drive customers towards adopting EVs.

The EV6 is a great product considering the needs of the Indian market, the only issue is the CBU price tag. However, Kia does have plans of locally manufacturing the EV, depending on the response they receive from the EV6.
