22-year old, Armaan Ebrahim will renew his participation in the F2 Championship to be held at Spa in Belgium as in the soon to be held 5th and 6th rounds following a 6 week break. With races scheduled one after the other at Nurburgring and Spa in Germany from July 2 to 3, the weekend will be a testing one for the young F2 racer from Chennai.
Armaan Ebrahim, who is sponsored by Trimex, Amaron and JK Tyre will look forward to score points for adding to the 6 he scored during the second round at the Silverstone circuit. Before the races at Spa begin, Ebrahim had test sessions earlier in the month at Snetterton, to conform to the track conditions at Belgian’s popular circuit, which is among the five present F1 venues to be added to Formula 2 Series in this season.
Armaan said that following a good start to his campaign at the Silverstone circuit, he witnessed a disappointing run at Magny-Cours in the 3rd and 4th rounds. He wants to put all this behind him and now focus on earning some points at the Spa race. They opted to run on some old tyres at the Snetterton test this month, along with a low down-force to prepare him for the rounds at the Spa. This will be his second jaunt at the Spa circuit after 2009, and he is very excited to race at the world famous circuit.
The weekend at the Spa will begin with 2 free test sessions on Friday, which will be followed 2 qualifying rounds and 2 races over a period of two days. Armaan added that they had a long break following the race at Magny-Cours, and he can’t wait to race again. The free time he had on his hands before was spent working on his fitness, and he hopes he has a great result at the Spa race.
