Audi A3 2.0 TDI Diesel Spotted for First Time in India

Audi A3 is on the board with the Ingolstadt based brand to start altogether a new segment in the Indian market, we meant by the way of luxury compact sedan. Spied a number of times in the past in the petrol version, this time the India’s beloved diesel trim of A3 is caught on camera secretly.

The snapped A3 is carrying 2.0-liter TDI engine (taken from the badge) underneath the hoods.

Commonly known, the Audi is owned by VW and that 2.0TDI engine is also found deployed on VW Passat, VW Jetta, Audi A4, Audi A6 and Skoda Octavia, which produces peak power between 140PS and 180PS depending upon the models.

No confirmation came from the officials of Audi about the engine specifications, nor even the launch.

On the counterpart, the petrol trim of A3 would be found doing with the 1.8-liter TFSI engine.

Hence, there are no confirmed competitor of A3 in the market, meant by the category and segmentation. The BMW and Mercedes had here is the luxury hatchback, and not the compact sedan. So, a lucrative price tag is definitely going to make the success story for Audi in India with the A3. Guessing when the launch is going to take place. Any idea…
