Audi sales upto September records 15% growth

Audi tasted the blood of top-position in the niche car market during the times of Michael Perschke. Though, after getting this Press Release, we are affirmed there are still some of the traces left behind the footsteps of Perschke in Indian market.

Confronting it, the news says, Ingolstadt based carmaker is redefining with the 15% increase during the sales figure of January-Sep of 2013, which specifically stood at 7391 units. The quarter sales report too confirmed, July – September 2013 resulted 2545 units depicting a 5 percent enhancement in the report.

However, the Audi had confirmed of continuing the year with the existing expansion policy, on the products and dealerships. It is abreacted, the four ringed brand introduced the A4 with a powerful new 177 hp engine and Audi Drive Select, where prior to that was the trimmed down version of Q3 being dubbed as Q3 S (Sport). To an addition, the Q3 also joined the local production along with other badges in the Aurangabad facility of Audi. It is also learnt that the brand will close the year with 34 dealerships across India.

“We are pleased to have consolidated our No. 1 position in the luxury car industry. We are confident that we will be the first luxury car manufacturer in the country, to cross sales of 10,000 units in a calendar year. We continue with our expansion strategy on the product and network front, undeterred by the current market scenario. We have strengthened our product portfolio with new engines and exciting new features for the festive season which kicks in this month. We will also open three new dealerships in October,” said Mr. Joe King, Head, Audi India.

Adding further, Mr. King confirmed, “Our growing network footprint, expansion on the production front and refreshed product portfolio hold us in good stead for the year ahead, as we consolidate our leading position in India. We look forward to celebrating the upcoming festival season with the ever increasing Audi family in India.”

Saved for the last, we are now dashed, Audi is planning to be the first luxury carmaker for crossing the earliest 10,000 units in this calendar year.
