Trucking is becoming advanced alongside the passenger vehicles, especially their cabins for most of the moment.

Added one more oomph of comfort to the truck drivers second home, the international automotive supplier Continental has introduced the 5 inch TFT (thin-film transistor) display technology for the commercial vehicle segment in India.

However, the thin film transistor (TFT) technology is already a norm on the passenger vehicles around the globe. With Continental, this successful product now enters into the CV market, marking a new chapter in the company’s 111 year history of successful instrumentation-production.

Continental Introduces 5 inch TFT Displays for Indian Commercial Vehicle Industry

Continental’s 5 inch TFT display, specially designed for commercial vehicles, facilitate the information of the vehicle, maybe about their GPS, infotainment and other such, in better image quality and for every time. The image quality doesn’t tend to hamper even when the vehicle is plying, or parked.

Dr. Christian Neumann, Head of Business Unit Commercial Vehicles and Aftermarket (CVAM), India said, “The commercial vehicle industry in India is going through a major evolution, with technological advancement being one of the key drivers of growth. The availability of better information management solutions will further drive this transformation. In India, the prevalence of smart phones has made TFT screens ubiquitous. From passenger cars to commercial vehicles – TFT technology is seeing a logical progression. Continental expects rapid adoption by OEs and fleet owners in the coming years.”

On the extension note, another trend in commercial vehicle found grooming in the industry, and i.e. the inclusion of a secondary screen for displaying optional content like images from the ProViu camera system.

Needed not to be said, at par the advancement taking place in global CV industry, India is also adopting them with a faster pace than before.
