It seems like the ongoing strike at Maruti’s facilities are not going to end soon. The strike has entered its 14th day with both the Management at Maruti or even the workers looking to bend down. However, inspite of all this unrest, Maruti managed to roll out some 200 odd cars from their Manesar plant. This happened on Wednesday.

As of now, the workforce which regularly reports to work for Maruti’s Manesar facility stands at 600. Manesar and Gurgaon in totality have 5 plants out of which 1850 vehicles were rolled out on Wednesday. The much loved Swift car had 300 numbers in this total. Maruti’s vendor, Suzuki Powertrain India Limited (SPIL), on requests from the Maruti management, has started the production of transmissions and diesel engines. Since the work was halted at even Suzuki Powertrain India Limited (SPIL), there were no parts coming into the Manesar plant on account of the strike, Maruti has incurred huge losses as also its customer base has been eroded to a great extent. More and more bookings are getting cancelled by the day and rivals companies are benefiting from this.
