No doubt that Fiat is going through a revamp in India, so as a result it has many of the badges lined up for our local market, with regards to some new ones and few refreshes. Well, here this time it is not the Jeep who had again made the headlines with fresh sets of spy shots, instead it is the Fiat Punto Abarth Evo who had shimmered at the spy shutterbug click of the aspiring Indian automotive industry.

Caught in the spy shots once again at Coimbatore, that too without any camouflage, Fiat Punto Abarth Evo is eagerly waiting to get out officially on our shores as soon as possible and open doors to a new segment. The car was also spied in the EssEsse variant during the mid of March and in the same city itself.

Powered by a 1.4L T-Jet turbo petrol engine, Fiat Punto Abarth Evo churns out a maximum power of 180 bhp and 270 Nm of torque. It is expected to have a slotting top whack of more than 200kmph where 0-100kmph sprint can be achieved in the fraction of less than 8 seconds. A 6-speed manual gearbox may find its way under the engine belly, which will give refined experience with retuned suspension and sharp driving ergonomics. Other visible updates may put 17” alloys, Abarth decals and special paint options in the offering list for its most awaited customers.

Hopefully, due to this heavy dose of adrenaline rush packed underneath, it is not easy for the Italians to price it very softly in India. No shocking news that, Punto Abarth Evo is totally a performance based vehicle, hence would find the customers who are solely performance driven, specifically they lies in very few numbers across India.
