Honda’s built to cost small car, the Honda Brio finally makes its much awaited debut in the Indian market today. The small car from Honda would compete with the likes of A+ segment hatchbacks. Keeping in mind the recent price cuts that Honda had to resort for its City as also Jazz models, the new Brio is priced very competitively. The starting price of the Honda Brio is Rs 3.95 lakhs, ex-show room, Delhi.
It is said that Honda Seil Motor India Limited had to resort to a high percentage of localization for the Brio in order to achieve this competitive pricing. Deliveries for the Brio would start taking place from 10th October 2011. The Brio comes with 4 trim levels and with 6 color options. The base variant would be called as E, the mid level variants would be S and S option while the top end variant is called as V. Rs 3.95 lakhs, Rs 4.35 lakhs, Rs 4.9 lakhs and Rs 5.1 lakhs is the price for each variant respectively.
A1.2 liter motor powers the Brio and it would produce 88 Bhp of power along with 110 Nm of torque. A 5 speed manual transmission is assigned the cog swapping duties. The ARAI certified fuel efficiency for the Brio is 18.1 kmpl. The top two variants would come with steering mounted audio controls as also airbags and ABS.
