Honda Plans to Increase Sales Network in Tier II & III Cities before Brio Launch

According to reports, Honda Siel Cars India is planning to expand their sales network in Tier II and Tier III cities for boosting the sales of their small car model Brio, which scheduled to unveil in the festive season.

The company has reportedly opened dealerships in Coonoor, Rohtak, Mandi and Ambala and is planning to add 25 more outlets over a year. The Marketing Director of HSCI, Seki Inaba, was quoted as saying that the Brio model is quite significant for their company, as they are relying on it to increase their customer base. They are planning to target upcountry consumers with their new model.


The Senior VP of Sales and Marketing, Jnaneswar Sen, said that currently almost 50% of their sales are derived from Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and Delhi. The rest of their sales are achieved from the rest of the 69 cities. As a result the potential of increasing their sales from the other Indian cities is huge.

According to reports, HSCI has sale centres in around 77 cities. Seki Inaba also said that their products are priced increasingly higher than those of their competitors. Their company wants to make their own mark by offering distinctive products in the market. Brio which is likely to be priced Rs.5 lakh will be the company’s cheapest car offering. The Brio will be manufactured at the Greater Noida plant of the company, with an 80% localisation content.
