Hyundai unveils its HND-9 Concept at 2013 Seoul Motor Show

After revealing the images of its concept car HND-9 a week ago, Hyundai has finally revealed the car officially at the 2013 Seoul Motor Show in Korea. As the name already suggests, HND-9 is the ninth concept car from the Namynag Design Centre situated in Korea. The ‘HND-9’ also displays the fluidic sculpture design from Hyundai.

It is the ninth concept model from the Hyundai Motor Group’s R&D Center in Namyang. It features every sophisticated detailing in its each design element. The vehicle with the dynamic wheelbase and hood expands to width of 1,890mm, Overall length of 4,695mm and height of about 1,340mm with a wheel base of 2,860 mm. the car is housed with a 3.3 litre turbo GDi engine mated with 8-speed automatic transmission. HND-9 churns out maximum power of about 365 bhp and features an exterior design that complements its powerful performance.

Head of Hyundai design center, Suk –Geun Oh said that the model reflects the future of the luxury sports coupe models from Hyundai. He also said that this rear wheel sport coupe represents the evolutionary phase of the Hyundai’s fluidic design philosophy that balances the high performance with sophisticated image. The concept made its appearance first at the 2013 Seoul Motor Show.

The car is based on the spiral sculpture concept that has been derived from the Hyundai’s Fluidic Sculpture design philosophy; the distinctive and dynamic spiral metal lines frame the entire interior in a quick and rhythmic way developing a unique layout.

The seats have been made from sporty but luxurious mesh and shows off different colour when seen from different angle. The driver oriented, high-tech interface has been molded with the cockpit giving it more functionality and aesthetics for dynamic drive.

Including the world debut of its concept car, Hyundai is showing over 30 cars and 11 new technologies in 10 different specialized zones, that also includes displays for children. Hyundai has the largest booth in the show and is based on the theme “Best Moment O”. The O represents the Hyundai’s initiative to strengthen its basic and to enhance its customer communication.

Other than the concept Hyundai also introduced many other varieties of internal and external projects namely, i40 Art Car, Equus by hermes and My baby project.
