Mercedes-Benz India Confirms 15 Product Launches In 2021: Continues To Lead Luxury Car Market

Mercedes-Benz has revealed its sales strategy for the Indian market for the 2021 calendar year. The German luxury carmaker has announced that they will be introducing 15 models in the Indian market over the course of the year. This includes a number of new models, along with a few facelifts as well.

Mercedes-Benz in 2020 introduced 10 models and is hoping to continue their aggressive sales strategy into 2021. The company will start off their campaign with the new A-Class Limousine sedan, which will be the first product to go on sale this year. The Mercedes-Benz A-Class Limousine was first showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo and is expected to go on sale in the coming weeks.

Apart from the A-Class Limousine, Mercedes-Benz India also has a few other models lined up for launch. This includes the new GLA, new S-Class and facelifted E-Class; among others. The brand has also confirmed the arrival of the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series to the Indian shores, sometime later this year.

Apart from announcing their sales strategy, Mercedes-Benz India also commented on their performance in the Indian luxury car market over the course of 2020. The company stated that they registered 7893 units of sales in 2020, which although a 42 per cent drop in yearly figures is still better than its closest rival.

Mercedes-Benz faced a tough time during the first half of 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, during Q3 of last year, the brand managed to bounce back registering a 42 per cent quarterly sales growth with 2886 units of sales. This recovery from the brand allowed Mercedes-Benz to retain its lead in the country’s luxury car market for the sixth year in a row.

Mercedes-Benz will be continuing its aggressive sales push in India into 2021 as well. With 15 new launches lined up, 2021 seems to be yet another busy year for the German carmaker in the Indian market.
