Nissan announces Senior Management changes in India

Chennai/Mumbai/New Delhi, (March 23rd 2012) – Nissan Motor Limited today announced changes to its senior management team in India and in the region, which will continue establishing the company as a increasingly significant marque  in one of its key strategic markets.

Mr. Trevor Mann, currently Senior Vice President, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, Purchasing and Production Engineering at Europe Nissan International S.A. is appointed Operating Committee –Middle East, India and Africa (OC-AMI) and SVP Global Supply Chain Management (SCM).

Toru Hasegawa President at Nissan Motor (Thailand) Co. Ltd and NMAP (Nissan Motor Asia Pacific Co. Ltd) and Regional Vice President, Asia & Oceania Operations is appointed Corporate Vice President, Middle East, India and Africa (AMI). He will be reporting to Mr. Mann who replaces Gilles Normand who is leaving to take up a senior position with Renault, the company’s Alliance partner. Mr. Hasegawa joined Nissan in the year 1981 and has held  numerous senior posts within the firm, including Nissan Middle East’s Managing Director, where he oversaw 80 percent increase in regional sales during 2005 – 2008.

As CVP for the AMI region, from 1st April, Mr. Hasegawa will be in charge of all related consolidated firms within the area and will be holding responsibility for overall performance such as sales, purchasing and manufacturing functions.

The company is  announcing that Mr. Takayuki Ishida, presently General Manager, India Department at Nissan Motor Company Limited  in Japan will be relocating to Chennai to take up the role of Managing Director at NMIPL (Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd).

Mr. Ishida, as head of NMIPL will be responsible for the company’s continued expansion within the high-growth Indian market like sales and network development, product introduction and will be reporting to Hasegawa.

Kiminobu Tokuyama, current Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd.’s Managing Director is returning to Japan for taking up an executive position with Yorozu Corporation that has been Nissan’s one of the leading automotive component suppliers and is rapidly expanding its international operations.

Toshihiko Sano, current General Manager, Vehicle Production Engineering at Nissan Motor Co Ltd. in Japan is promoted to Managing Director, RNAIPL (Renault Nissan Automotive India Pvt. Ltd.).

Kou Kimura, current Managing Director of the Chennai facility will be returning to Japan to take up a senior position within Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering Division of NML.

Mr. Sano has more than three decades of  experience with Nissan working in several production plants in Indonesia, North America and Japan in a range of key engineering roles such as new model introduction preparation.

One of his responsibilities at RNAIPL will be to manage the continued development of Chennai facility, which recently doubled its production capacity to 400,000 units per year.
