One from a Billion Hunt’s Hyderabad Regionals Sees First Female Finalist

Following a phenomenal response during the Hyderabad leg of Force India’s ‘One from a Billion Hunt’, Force India F1 Team Academy along with Mobil 1, recently announced the fourteen chosen finalists who are qualified to participate in National Finals. Regional trials in Hyderabad took place on 23rd May and ended on 29th May.

The finalists were chosen depending on their lap times achieved by them during qualifying sessions. All of the applicants were allowed to have five laps and log in their best lap time for qualifying in National finals, through the regional round held in Hyderabad.

National Finals will take place on September, 2011. A total of 100 finalists will participate, which includes 14 each from seven regional rounds as well as two more wild card admissions will compete for a place with the 10 finalists to compete in the Silverstone Finale.

The Team Principal and Chairman of Force India F1 Team, Vijay Mallya, said speaking about the end of the Hyderabad round that ever since they launched this initiative for Indian youth to display their talent through karting in India, they have received a tremendous response from all of the regional rounds so far.


He also said that the Hyderabad round produced a talented group of finalists who will now compete with the other talented 86 finalists, and wished them the best. He was also very pleased to see the first female finalist selected from the Hyderabad rounds.

Meanwhile, a representative from Mobil 1 said that they were delighted to sponsor this initiative by Force India. The event received a tremendous response from enthusiasts of motor sports in Hyderabad, and congratulated the chosen 14, wishing them the best for National Finals.
