Renault Pulse prices may rise by 2% from 8 March

Renault India Pvt Ltd launched the Renault Pulse, its premium class hatch during the 2012 Auto Expo in Delhi with an introductory price range of Rs 5.77 lacs. However, Renault had already mentioned that it was an introductory price for the RxL variant and could be subjected to appraisal.

Faced with rising input costs, the company has come to a firm decision of raising the prices of the two variants by 2%. This gives the RxL a hike of Rs 10,000 while the RxZ will be costlier by Rs 12,000.

Commenting on the price increase, Marc Nassif, Managing Director, Renault India Pvt Ltd said, “The Pulse has been received very well by our customers and we have received a large number of enquiries from potential customers. The Renault Pulse represents the aspirations and needs of present day customers and comes loaded with features which provide an extremely good value for money proposition. In the face of rising input cost we have now no option but to pass on a part of the cost to our customers although the Pulse still remains as one of the most competitive in its segment on all features including the price”.

Renault India also has to its name the premium sedan, Fluence and the SUV, Koleos, in the Indian market. The Renault Pulse is manufactured in the Renault Nissan Alliance assembly line in Oragadam, located on the outskirts of Chennai. Currently, Renault has 41 dealers across India, and the altered price will be effective in all 41 dealerships from March 8, 2012.
