Though Toyota RAV4 is not available in India, but we all love from the core of our heart. The Toyota RAV4 was one of the vehicles that had changed the fascia of automotive industry. Dating back to the era before 1989 Tokyo motor show, Chief Engineer Masakatsu Nonaka was designated a tough job to create a vehicle that could be feasible for masses and should be giving a comfort of driving a hatchback with the reliability and utility, as well as some of the ruggedness.

Unveiled at the 1989 Tokyo Motor Show, RAV-Four was termed smartly under the notation – RAV” for Recreational Active Vehicle, and “Four” represents its four-wheel-drive system.

Toyota Celebrates 20 Years of RAV4

Two years after the concept unveiled, in 1992 it got approved for the production-specific version and further two years later in 1994 the first generation RAV4 rolled off the assembly line. Today, in 2014, the crossover of Toyota too is stamping the glory of success across the globe.

Under hoods, first RAV4 was having the Camry’s 2-liter 127 bhp engine, aided on suspension from the Celica GT-four.

However, the development was then taken on further, and with the every passing year some changes were made to the model plate. Mentioned below is time to time information of changes made to Toyota RAV4:
