Toyota Classic 2010 – A World of Harmony

Recently Toyota Kirloskar Motor organised a ‘Toyota Classic 2010 – A World of Harmony’ charity event. This event was held in November 2010 at Jamshed Bhabha Theatre, National Centre for Performing Arts (better known as NCPA). This event was graced with the world renowned Italian orchestra Citta di Firenze along with the world renowned conductor Lorenzo Castriota Skanderbeg. Also present there, was the famous tenor Leonardo Melani and, a very young and talented Luu Hong Quang who is a Vietnamese pianist. The event was also marked by a performance of Padmashree Dr. Kadri Gopalnath, an illustrious saxophonist who was the special guest at the event.

This programme is been conducted for more than 20 years and every year the sole motive of this programme is charity.  This year the beneficiary of this event was the Child Rights and You (CRY). Mrs. Kirloskar, wife of Mr Vikram Kirloskar, Vice Chairman  and Mrs. Nakagawa, wife of Mr. Hiroshi Nakagawa, Managing Director presented the Rs. 17 lakhs donation cheque to Ratan Batliboi, Trustee of CRY foundation. Besides the CRY foundation, a sum of Rs. 3 lakhs was also donated to the Mehali Mehta Foundation, an education group that encourages the children to learn music. From past 20 years this event by now has attracted more than 200,000 audiences and there have been more than 154 concerts for the same all across the Asia Pacific.
