Volkswagen launches Polo GT TDI (diesel) for Rs. 8.08 lakh ex showroom Delhi

As it was said a couple of days before, the Polo GT TDI is going to launch in India today itself. Fulfilling our promise at its best, we finally managed to get our hands on the news that VW had launched the GT version of hatchback Polo for Rs. 8.08 lakh ex-showroom Delhi.

Just like the Polo GT TSI, the GT TDI will also be a performance version of the Polo diesel. Vento driven 1.6L diesel engine of 105 PS @ 4400 RPM, and 250 Nm of peak torque between 1500-2500 RPM, will be outputting its technicalities being driven through the tyranny of a “manual 5-speed gearbox”. Unlikely to the GT TSI Volkswagen hadn’t provided the T TSI a DSG gearbox with pedal shifter. But no to disappointment, the hatch looks satisfied with the provided engine concluding it as the most powerful model plate in the segment, which has raised the bar of competition from 90HP Fiat Punto, Indica Vista D90 and their likes.

Polo GT TDI would be returning 19.78 km/l as per ARAI.

Cosmetically it will have the similar layouts to that of the Polo GT TSI, with GT badging over the car’s body and that eye catching Estrada wheel for exteriors. On inside, Milan fabric upholstery and leather draped applications on steering wheel, gear knob and handbrake lever will be there to pamper a one in posh ever environment at masses’ hatchback. No to doubts the GT TSI will also be helping its diesel sibling here with the climate control air-conditioner, 2-din audio system with USB, AUX, Bluetooth and SD card connectivity for added comfort, while the driver’s enhancement to be deployed with Electronic Stability Programme, Hill Hold Assist and ABS inclusive of dual front airbags.

Bookings had already started and Indians can book their Polo GT TDI in the paint-job of red, white and black. Deliveries are also learnt to have begun right now along with the bookings.
