According to recent reports, Audi is all set to launch their new A6 with four motor options in July. The base A6 model will feature a turbodiesel 2.0 litre engine which delivers 175bhp max power, and a TDI 3.0 litre engine which delivers 242bhp. The other two engine options are petrol engines, which include an FSI 2.8 litre engine which delivers 201bhp max power, and a supercharged TFSI 3.0 litre engine which delivers 296bhp max power.

The new A6 boasts of lavish interiors, with a terrific looking wraparound dashboard and great detailing. The premium A6 also features a seven speed automatic S-tronic dual clutch transmission from Audi itself. Audi is expecting to get achieve huge sales for its diesel version, as its luxury car buyers want a premium segment model, which has low cost of running and affordable, making base versions a preferred choice.

This is proven from the fact that the majority of sales for the 5 Series from BMW comes from its base model, the 520d. Audi hopes to imitate this success with their 2.0 litre TDI entry level model.

The A6 2.0 litre TDI is priced at approx. Rs.37 lakh according to ex-showroom prices; while the high end 3.0 litre TDI and 3.0 litre TFSI have a price tag of approx. Rs.47 lakh each according to ex-showroom prices, with a difference of a few thousand rupees between them. With these engine options, the A6 will surely be on the same level as its competitors.
