The nation’s most electrifying automobile honors have been declared with the TopGear Magazine Awards 2012.

BBC TopGear India is the Indian version of TopGear, the United Kingdom’s top selling automobile magazine. And the Indian auto fraternity has been celebrating this award function since the year 2007.

While talking about the awards, Celebrity guest, Abhishek Bachchan said, “The TopGear Magazine Awards were an overwhelming experience. I have always been a petrol head and a TopGear Magazine buff as it feeds my fervor for automobiles. One of my much favored possessions is the Audi I drive. I am grateful to Mr. Tarun Rai for having me at the awards night and it was good to witness the industry rejoice in characteristic TopGear ostentation”.

While commenting on the BBC TopGear Magazine India Awards, Tarun Rai, CEO Worldwide Media stated, “BBC Top Gear is the major automobile mag brand in the globe with versions in 31 nations. And in each of these 31 nations, Top Gear is recognized for its trustworthy take on cars and bikes. It is therefore, apposite that the first auto honors of this year are also the most authoritative. 26 best cars and motorcycles of 2012, in a range of categories, will walk away with the Top Gear prize – The Stig.”

2012’s victors contain names such as the Lamborghini Aventador, Renault Duster, Mercedes-Benz M-Class, Audi Q3 Mini Cooper S, and KTM Duke 200 amongst others who have managed to astonish the TopGear Magazine group with their pure potentialities.

Girish Karkera, Editor, TopGear Magazine India stated, “We do not review a vehicle by numbers only. That would be very simple and strangely, imprecise. I think for all true car and motorcycle buffs, they are not just machines but living beings whom we talk and spend time with.. The underlying common thread between all our winners is that they are the new benchmark in their respective segments. More importantly, they are brilliant in their own right.”
