2022 Mercedes Benz C-Class Launched | Quick Review | Engine | Gearbox | Features | Price |

Mercedes Benz India has launched the all-new Mercedes Benz C-Class and we tell you all about it.

The updated C-Class is in its fifth generation and is known by the model W-206. The model was launched globally in 2021, but we finally get it now here in India.

The C-Class has been launched in three variants C-200, C-220D & C-300D.

The C-200 is powered by a downsized petrol engine, what’s now under the hood, is a 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine, producing 204 HP & 300 Nm of torque. The diesel variants despite using the same engine, have different power figures, due to the ECU tunes. The 2.0L turbocharged diesel engine produces 200 HP & 440 Nm of torque in the C-220D & 265 HP & 550 Nm of torque in the C-300D. All three variants share a 9-Speed automatic gearbox.

The new Mercedes Benz C-Class also features a 48V integrated starter generator that provides the engine with an extra boost of power while improving fuel efficiency.

Now, it is expected of a Mercedes Benz to host a list of pampering features, but what’s not expected is a certified fuel efficiency above 20 Km/L. The hybrid motor helps the petrol engine in delivering fuel efficiency of 16.9 Km/L. The C-220 D returns an efficiency of 23 Km/L & the C-300D, 20.3 Km/L.

The C-Class has always been regarded as the ‘Baby S-Class’, but this time Mercedes Benz really means it. The 2022 C-Class gets a cabin that easily fools the eye into believing it is an S-Class. The central dash features the 11.9-inch portrait screen layout for all the central controls, replacing the buttons, including the climate control.

The infotainment screen gets wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto. Paired with the system is a Burmeister 3-D surround sound system.

In terms of comfort and convenience features, the cabin gets 64-colour ambient lighting, memory seats, a wireless charging pad, driving modes, and a digital cockpit.

In terms of safety features, the German comes loaded with active brake assist, pre-safe seat belt tensioners, active park assist, TPMS, and rain-sensing wipers.

The C-200 has been launched at a price of Rs 55 Lakhs, the C-220D for Rs 56 Lakhs & the C-300D for Rs 61 Lakhs (ex-showroom).
