ARAI Opens its Gates to General Public

About to dust off the doubts, ARAI had announced to let its gates open to general public on every third Saturday of the month.

However, the Indian government authenticated automobile testing organization has related the reason behind this move is to create enthusiasm amongst youngster for automobile industry.

The first visit is noted to take place on May 24, 2014.

Interested enthusiasts can register themselves on the official ARAI website, link mentioned at the end of the post.

100 visitors in each trip will be allowed in a day for each of the two sessions, the timings slated to be from 10am to noon and 3pm to 5pm.

The visitors shall be more than 25 years of age.

“Most sections of the campus will be accessible to visitors. We will restrict access to areas with confidential customer-centric projects,” said ARAI’s general manager Mohan Uchgaonkar addressing a press conference.

ARAI is settled up in 1966 by the government of India in order to conduct various tests with regards to automobiles and its allied industries. The firm does also provide technical expertise in R&D, testing, certification, homologation and framing of vehicle regulations. In adjacent to the said, ARAI also has an academy where it runs courses for students of various universities, to groom them for undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
