Aston Martin Victims Received New Cars from Ambanis

An Audi A6 for an Audi A6, and a Skoda Superb for a Hyundai Elantra, are what the Ambanis has paid as compensation to the victims of Aston Martin accident.

Days back we reported about the Rs. 4.5 crore Aston Martin Rapide rammed into some cars at Peddar Road during the wee hours of December 8 2013. That Aston Martin was reported to be registered on the name of Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Ports.

However, cars which were scrapped in the mishap are now in the service station for repairs. The good news is that, owners are allowed to posses their old scrapped vehicles even, as well as the new ones been received from Reliance too.

In return, the victims have approached Gamdevi Police Station, where they have filed a police complaint, and have asked police officials to withdraw the case.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Nisar Tamboli, said withdrawal of case will not affect the investigation. “An FIR has been registered and we will continue with our probe. The case will be committed to a court and it will be up to the court to decide whether to allow withdrawal of prosecution,” he added.

“We are satisfied with the compensation,” said Audi owner Foram Ruparel; the other victim and owner of Hyundai Elantra, Vikram Mishra, a senior pharma executive also echoed the same.

Adding to the twist, Bansilal Joshi, 55, a Reliance driver, is said to be driving the Aston Martin, as he presented himself at the Gamdevi police station that morning after the accident. But police officials didn’t arrest him as they suspect some other person to be there behind the steering at the moment. Details had proven two different fingerprints inside the car, but it didn’t budge as a concrete proof of the other person to be driving the car, as Ambanis have number of drivers to look into their possessions. Reliance has also reported that Joshi was on a routine maintenance drive, where as a standard of Ambani family two SUVs with guards inside followed the Aston Martin and Joshi escaped in one of those escorting vehicles after hitting the vehicles.

No death and serious injuries were reported, but the victims escaped only with minor cuts and bruises.

Well, it remains a guarded secret, who was the person driving the Aston Martin when it rammed into Audi and Hyundai, from the viewpoint of police officials. Hope so, the stern attitude of police may reveal the truth to us soon.
