Audi India opens new showroom in Nagpur

Audi AG, one of the world’s leading luxury carmaker, inaugurated its top of the range showroom in Nagpur, as a part of its network expanding strategy. The Audi Nagpur opening ceremony was lead by Mr. Michael Perschke, Head, Audi India and Mr. Gautam Kale, Managing Director, Audi Nagpur (Jaika Vehicle Trade Private Ltd).

Audi India opens new showroom in Nagpur

The German luxury automaker will further plans to expand its foothold in markets such as Bhopal, Coimbatore and Delhi West in April 2012.

Audi India targets expanding its dealers network to 25 dealerships in current calender from the current 16 outlets. In 2011, the luxury automaker launched new car showrooms in Delhi, Chennai, Ludhiana, Surat and Indore.

Covering a total area of 9684 sq. ft. Audi Nagpur showroom features a honeycomb aluminum façade on the outside. While the showroom will display the entire product lineup of Audi cars available in India, 10 cars will be put up on display at a time. Audi Nagpur also shares roof with an Audi Shop and the Audi Exclusive elements, where visitors can order exclusive products and buy from a range of Audi branded merchandise.

Audi Nagpur will also engage in the exclusive Audi service center, located in MIDC Hingna. This workshop expands over 30,000 sq. ft. of area and has a capability to service eight vehciles a day in a single shift on a all of the running 7 bays. The technicians and mechanics at the facility are expertise that promise world-class services to the customers.

For the Indian market, Audi displayed spectacular performance with record sale of 600 cars in February 2012 – a growth of 33 per cent compared to the same period last year in Feb with 450 cars. Striving ahead confidently with its plans for the 2012 calender, the German luxury auto manufacturer targets to reach a sale record of 8000 cars this year, remarking a significant growth over the previous year’s figure of 5,511 cars.

The Audi Group delivered 1,302,659 cars of the Audi brand to customers in 2011. In 2011 the Company posted revenue of €44.1 billion and an operating profit of €5.3 billion. Aurangabad in India saw the start of production of the Audi A6 at the end of 2007, the Audi A4 in early October 2008, the Audi Q5 in July 2010 and the new Audi A6 in June 2011. At the Brussels plant, production of the Audi A1 has been running since May 2010, while production of the new A1 Sportback began in 2012. Between 2012 and 2016 the brand with the four rings is planning to invest a total of €13 billion – mainly in new products and the extension of production capacities – in order to sustain the Company’s technological lead embodied in its “Vorsprung durch Technik” slogan. Audi is currently expanding its site in Gyor (Hungary) and will start production in Foshan (China) in late 2013.
