Bugatti Black Bess Veyron: Ahead Of Beijing Motor Show Debut

In a push to try and sell the remaining Bugatti Veyron models, all of which are convertibles, the French automaker has been introducing the new Legend edition vehicles throughout the past few months. Limited to six editions each of which will be produced in a limited run of three, the most recent Legends edition is the Rembrandt Bugatti. Now it can be confirmed that the fifth model will be showcased at next month’s 2014 Beijing Auto Show, while the final Legends model will bow at Pebble Beach this coming August. The penultimate and fifth car – known as Black Bess will be limited to three examples and is based on Bugatti Veyron Grand Vitesse.

Nonetheless, in honor of Type 18 – the historic Bugatti, which is serving as inspiration for this special edition, the vehicle will feature an exterior of painted carbon fiber with gold accents and special set of alloy wheels.

The interior is finished in different contrasting leathers and racing motifs are embossed on the door panels. One of the popular Type 18 owners was Roland Garros; French Aviator who purchased an example in 1912 hoping it would be as fast as his aircraft. Motivation for the Bugatti Black Bess Veyron comes from a W16 8.0 liter engine, which is good for pumping out 1184 horsepower with 1106 pound feet of torque. It will accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in the time range of 2.6 seconds, with the top speed of 254mph.

The Black Bess will be available for the price of £1.8 million. Previous models in the Legends Series have celebrated Rembrandt Bugatti, Meo Constantini, Jean-Pierre Wimille and Jean Bugatti. The vehicle will go on public display for the first time at Beijing Auto Show, which opens its doors to the press on 20th April.
