New range of vehicles from General Motors will hit the Indian market in March this year. But the most gorgeous car amongst those vehicles is the Chevrolet Sail hatchback, which will hit the market by this July. Chevrolet Sail will be available in both diesel and petrol variants.The diesel variant will definitely help General Motors penetrate the Indian market even further as demand for diesel vehicles in India is growing with every passing day.
Chevrolet Sail‘s petrol variant will be powered by a 1.2 liter petrol engine and diesel variant will be powered by a 1.3 liter diesel engine. Both the petrol and diesel variants will have notchback and hatchback models. For those who are not familiar with the term notchback, it means a car whose roof falls off to the top of the rear cubicle.
The officials of GM India said that the price and features of the new Chevrolet Sail will attract the buyers and it will have much less competitors in the market. Most of the cars which will launch this year were designed and developed in Bangalore,the new improved Chevrolet Tavera model being one of them.
The design centre along with development and research center employs around 2100 scientists and engineers. Apart from the Sail, General Motors is also looking to launch an MPV in the last quarter of this year. But they are yet to reveal any info of that MPV. General Motors will also bring an electric car this year and it will be launched as soon as the government in India declares their policy regarding those types of vehicles.
