In the times of compact SUVs no carmaker wants themselves to be found on the ground of exception. As we all know Mahindra too is in the same league, so its upcoming product in compact SUV segment which is codenamed as S101 is found doing test rounds once again in the southern side of India. Though, there is a minute difference between all of the previous spy shots and this new one. Earlier spy shots gave us only a hint of exteriors, but this time some of the interior cliché had also been revealed on the new note.
Hence to name it, there are three dials on the instrument cluster with the center one being prominent, whilst rest of the interiors too are covered under heavy camouflage like exteriors. However, we cannot conclude that these clichés are the final decision of carmaker or not. As because most of the exterior cliché looks made to serve test runs only, interiors may also be particular to that of same array.
In fact, front seems finalized, so now we can conclude some of our perceptions on it. The bumpers had received treatment similar to that of XUV500. The slightly silted front grille is also bearing those beefy yet aggressive XUV looks. No doubt that this will be imitating the mini cheetah in all the stances, but hopefully no ‘final’ words goes with this upcoming newbie of Mahindra.
There is a lot of time for the compact SUV of Indian carmaker to arrive, so it’s better to sound silent on the looks and aesthetics. Engine specifications however may continue the legacy of Renault borrowed 1.5L K9k, the output in order to be nearing the point of 100bhp.
Well, we hope S101 to be next name in the lane of sub four meter category, so now the hatchback and other sedans had a reason to worry about, which they were already dwindling with the fear of to be killed by compact SUV’s measurement very soon.
The car is in the early stage of development, so no specific launch dates are needed to be mentioned here.
