Engine Specs of Next-Gen Mini Clubman Revealed

Mini has revealed the engine specs for its next generation Clubman, which is to make its official debut at the upcoming 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. The new edition of Clubman will come with options of two diesel and two petrol engines which will be offered in various tuning states.

The Cooper D Clubman will be tuned to offer 145bhp in terms of peak power and 330Nm of peak torque, while the top end SD Clubman would offer 185bhp of power and 400Nm of torque. Both will run on the 2.0-litre four-cylinder mill that is tuned according to requirement.

The entry level too will offer a mean 111bhp of power as well as 270Nm of torque and will be powered by a 1.5-litre three cylinder diesel engine.

When it comes to petrol options, the entry level will be the 1.5-litre three-cylinder engine which will give a peak output of 100bhp of power as well as a peak torque of 180Nm. The same engine will also feature on the Cooper Clubman where it will be tuned to deliver 130bhp and 220Nm of torque. The S Clubman will feature a 2.0-litre four-cylinder unit that will deliver 188bhp of power and 280Nm of torque with a new overboost function which will allow it to increase torque to up to 300Nm.

The Clubman is slightly longer than the Mini Cooper and will feature a longer wheelbase as well. There have already been glimpses of it earlier and an Indian launch is likely to be seen by mid 2016.
