Fiat Grande Punto Sports launched at Rs 7.36 lacs

One of the most powerful hatches on road and the most beautiful Fiat has finally broken cover. Fiat India has launched the 90 hp adaptation of the Punto diesel in India. Dubbed, the Grande Punto Sport is the sportier and more powerful version of the Punto hatch manufactured in India. Adding a few extra ponies under hood, Fiat offers the 2012 Grande Punto Sport at Rs 7.36 lacs (ex-showroom).

Emerging as a sporty hatch, the Fiat gets a smack of extra horsepower with the new 91 hp, 1.3-litre Multi-jet turbo diesel. It gets a thrust of 209 Nm torque with the new variable geometry turbocharger. To add to the sporty persona, Fiat has added exciting body graphics to the new Grande Punto Sport, and it will appear in three shades – black, white and red.

It is features great Italian engineering and superb road dynamics. Fiat will continue selling the standard Grande Punto petrol and diesel in India. For the petrol variant, Fiat option from 68 hp 1.2-litre and 75 hp 1.4-litre units. On the standard diesel end, there is a 1.3-litre Multi-jet diesel engine minus variable geometry turbocharger, giving 75 hp.

Fiat also took the opportunity to launch the new Fiat Caffe in Pune’s posh Koregaon park locality. It is the first Fiat Caffe in Pune and second in India.
