Force India Secures 8 Points with Adrian Sutil Finishing 7th in Monaco GP

Indian F1 fans now have something to cheer about. The team recently achieved their best ever season with Adrian Sutil finishing seventh at the Monaco GP, in which five drivers did not manage to complete the race.

Sutil produced 8 points for Force India team, after a dismal performance in the previous four races. Meanwhile, his teammate Paul di Resta came in at twelfth position, which was an improvement from grid by three positions. Sutil has started from the fourtheenth position on grid, but managed to enter the top 5, however a bit late after the second pit stop, finishing minutes before lap 71 to drop to the eighth position.

Lap 71 was difficult for Sutil, as he faced barriers when he came out from the Tabac, suffering a puncture in his rear tyre. As the racer tried to keep his car heading straight, cars from behind began lining up. This resulted in Jaime Alguersuari from Torro Rosso hitting Lewis Hamilton and Vitali Petrov from Renault. Petrov as a result had to quit the race, as his car was badly damaged after crashing into the barriers, which forced the race to be suspended for 30 minutes.

After the race restarted, Sutil climbed back one more spot up and managed to remain in the same place till the race ended. Force India team had not managed to win any points in the season’s last three races. Meanwhile, Narain Karthikeyan finished at 17th position in the race, driving for Hispania.
