Ford 2012 Fiesta RS World Rally Car unveiled

Ford has recently revealed its 2012 Fiesta RS World Rally Car livery by the company’s official team. The unveiling ceremony took place in Birmingham, United Kingdom at the presence of Ford World Rally team director Malcolm Wilson and Ford of Europe motorsport chief Gerard Quinn.

The team will be sponsored by Castrol EDGE. Castrol has been the sponsor of this team since 2011. The Fiesta RS World Rally Car is an all-wheel drive vehicle with 1.6 liter Ecoboost engine. The World Rally Car is based on Ford’s extremely popular Fiesta passenger car. This particular vehicle had a clean sweep at the podium last year, which also happened to be its debut season.

Ford 2012 Fiesta RS World Rally Car unveiledJari MattiLatvala and co-driver Mikka Antilla have been named as the team leaders for this season of World Rally Championship. The duos were on top of world rankings for special stage victories last year. Joining them in the team will be former world champions Peter Solberg and Chris Patterson. Both of them have signed a one year contract with the team and will drive the Fiesta in all the 13 rounds of the rally.
