Ford India sees a hike of 20.46% in sales in June 2013

Ford India is one of the leading automobile companies in India. Reports are reaching the market from all the Indian auto giants. To summarize it, we can say that the star performer has been Honda with a sales hike of 248% in June 2013 and of 45% in the April- June span. Hyundai is stable with its minimal hike of 0.57% this year. Mahindra and Mahindra is running in losses with a fall of 8% in its sales in June 2013. The market these days is not offering a very friendly atmosphere. Although Ford India has succeeded in obtaining a hike of a total 20.46% in its sales in June 2013 as compared to the same month in the last year.

In June 2013, Ford India had sold a total of 8,771 vehicles. This included both the exports as well as the domestic sales. Ford’s performance in the Indian market has been really appreciable. It sold a total of 7,145 units in the country while in the last year they had sold a total of 6,267 units. This gives them a hike of 14% in the domestic market.

The star seller for Ford has been Ecosport. This newly launched sports car received a very warm response from Indians. Ecosport has sold a total of 6,267 units in the country in the past year. The sales for Ford India have rised significantly because of Ecosport.

Ford India has also excelled in its exports. Last year in June, Ford India had exported a total of 1,024 vehicles. This year the exports have risen to a total of 1,626 units. This gives them a hike of 59% in exports.

The executive director of sales and service department at Ford India, Mr.Vinay Piparsania has said that “The surge in Ford India’s domestic wholesales and exports is a strong indicator of customers’ acceptance of our quality products with smart features that they truly want and value. Going further with our global One Ford strategy to deliver

great products, we’ve launched the All-new Ford EcoSport at a compelling value for money proposition, offering a great power of choice to customers from several segments,”

EcoSport is already doing well in India. Recently, Ford India launched an upgraded EcoSport which was being eagerly awaited. This compact SUV is expected to boost Ford’s sales even further. This car is offering a total of 10 variants with 3 engine options. Thus it can suit anyone’s need with ease. It is currently available at a price of 5.59 lacs.
