Porsche Panamera S gets plug-in hybrid drive

The second generation of Panamera Gran Turismo rolls out plug-in hybrid technology to the executive section initially.

Even though it may be quite on the costly side for a plug-in, it’s actually the only alternative out there for the company’s buffs looking for a fuel-competent ride.

Nicknamed as the Panamera S E-Hybrid, the company’s initial plug-in hybrid grinds out around 416 HP, with the electric motor offering 95 of those horses.

Electricity is stacked away in a 9.4- kilowatt hour lithium-ion battery package that is said to offer the Panamera S E-Hybrid with 20 miles of electric-only range.

Recharging to jam-packed capacitance takes just 2.5 hours when linked to 240-volt.  Top pace in electric-only form is registered at 84 miles per hour, however it jumps to 167 miles per hour with the gas engine cranking.
