Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL), top maker of premium cars in the Indian market, recorded a growth of around 46 per cent in domestic sales with 8085 vehicle units in the month of October as compared to 5526 vehicles units sold in the corresponding period of the last year.
In a cumulative manner, Honda Cars India Ltd has sold around 43,525 vehicle units in April – October 2012 from 29,717 vehicle units in the corresponding period of 2011, posting an increase of 46%.
HCIL also exported a total volume of 420 vehicle units during the last month period.
In addition, the company has commenced the export of Honda Brio to the South African market as well as to the SADC (South African Development Community) nations from October 2012 and is intensifying the Honda export biz to turn India as another center for export of such models.
Overwhelmed with the sales increase in October 2012, Mr. Jnaneswar Sen, Sr. Vice President, Sales & Marketing, HCIL said, “Our sales recital in October 2012 has been very exciting in spite of the harsh market circumstances, and we are very pleased with the comeback received to fresh launches during October. The growth of export biz is also a noteworthy landmark in our journey and we are sure that this will add to the augmentation of HCIL”.
