Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has had a really optimistic viewpoint from the time the Scorpio was first rolled out in the year 1997.
Considering the victory, top Indian utility vehicle maker has attained with the Scorpio, Bolero as well as the XUV500, the company has determined to introduce 3 fresh car models in India by 2015 end. Together with the novel models, it also proposes to revamp a few of the other models in its fleet.
The first of these models would be the new Mahindra Reva e2O that is said to be disclosed after the declaration of 2013 Union financial plan. It is likely that the new financial statement may perk up a few surprises in terms of grants for electric vehicle purchasers, and consequently, the car manufacturer is proposing to make the most of the same. The said vehicle is projected to be introduced at a price range of Rs. 5-6 lakhs that would differ hinging upon the possible financial support.
At present, Mahindra Reva already boasts an edition of the electric car on road that carries a price label of Rs. 2.5- 3 lakhs. However, it is just a 2-seater car. The yet-to-be-launched e2O will have 4 seats, and will look more forceful as compared to the current edition. If a financial backing for electric cars gets announced during the Union financial plan, not only will this lead to a demand augmentation for the e2O but it will also pave the path for other makers.
The second vehicle to be rolled out by the year 2015 is named as the ‘Verito CS’. The sub-4 metre edition of the Mahindra Verito will stand against other popular vehicles including Maruti Swift Dzire, Tata Indigo CS, as well as shortly-to-be-rolled out Honda Amaze. The vehicle is likely to boast the 1.5 litre K9K motor proposed by Renault and would be obtainable only in the diesel appearance.
As per reports, ‘Verito CS’ is one of the few cars of the company, which is not a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV).
After a long journey of around fifteen years, it has been determined that the Scorpio is lastly all set for a major renovation. The vehicle will encompass superior road styles and will be a highly modern vehicle as against the existing edition. The said car would also contain a more effective engine.
Mr. Pawan Goenka, President of Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) Automotive and Farm Equipment divisions, stated, “We have had two major launches in the past eighteen month period. Coming 12 months will not witness fresh launches but around 4 refreshes of the subsisting products. We are functioning on 3 new products that will reach the market from financial 2015.
