Leading Indian SUV manufacturer Mahindra and Mahindra has announced the retirement of certain parts and components of certain batches of its flagship SUV XUV500. The company has decided to replace certain components from the XUV500s which includes front power window unit, left wiper blade cover of some units and fluid hose – a total of three parts that have been decided by Mahindra for replacement. The parts are being changed from the certain XUV500s that were sold in 2011 and 2012. The replacement for the above mentioned parts will be done free of charge by Mahindra.

However, Mahindra has not revealed the exact number of vehicles that will be going through this replacement procedure. If we look at the figures we will see, Mahindra has sold about 60,000 to 65,000 vehicles during the said period. So, replacing parts of all these vehicles would be quite difficult. However, we are presuming that a certain batch would be having the faulty components that Mahindra is hoping to replace. Commenting on the same, the company issued a statement which said that the recall is in accordance with Mahindra’s customer centric approach.

This is the first time that Mahindra and Mahindra has issued a recall for its vehicle’s faulty parts. However, the other leading Indian automakers e.g. Hyundai, Maruti Suzuki and Tata Motors, have already done it quite efficiently and successfully in recent times.

So, if you own one of the vehicles that are facing the problem due to the above mentioned parts then rest assured that your parts will be replaced for free.
