Mahindra Scorpio crosses milestone of 4 lakh units since its launch

Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd. bumped another milestone with the mighty muscular Scorpio, as crossed sale of 4 lakh units during the past 11 years since its launch. However, the Indian carmaker managed to roll-out 50,000 numbers of same in the past two years alone.

That’s not all; the Scorpio also outperformed other SUVs and MUVs in states like Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Orissa, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and North East.

Scorpio’s online community on Facebook is one of the largest online auto communities on Facebook India.

The Scorpio YouTube channel garnered over 4 million views till date, ticking even more of the clicks by the passing time.

Speaking on the milestone, Pravin Shah, Chief Executive, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra, said, “This is a very proud moment for us, as the iconic and trend-setting Scorpio has achieved yet another milestone. This achievement reaffirms the Scorpio’s immense popularity and the confidence that consumers have reposed in it over the years. Being one of the most admired and most awarded brands within the Indian automobile industry, the Scorpio has rightfully claimed its spot as the king of Indian roads”.

Powered by a 2.2 litre mHawk diesel engine in its bay, Scorpio produces 120bhp and 290 Nm of torque engulfed by a 5-speed manual gearbox.

However, the Scorpio facelift is also reported to be there in the works of Mahindra, as spy shots have surfaced recently, the recent launch in the bag of Scorpio is a ‘Special Edition’ which was officially revealed on its official page without the ‘price tag’.
