Tata Motors launches Xenon pickup in Nepal

Tata’s aggressiveness is betting heavily in the Nepalese market. Hopefully, after enjoying some success at the commercial segment there, it’s now time for the Xenon pickup to prove the most of its mettle in Nepal.

Launched in single and dual cab versions, Xenon there dwells 3.0 litre Turbo Direct-Injection diesel engine producing 72HP and 223Nm of torque. Its top-whack is stated at 120kmph, while the fuel economy stays best-in-class. Radial tyres and overdrive gearbox are some of the tweaks to pass Xenon through tough and hilly areas of Nepal.

Commenting on the launch, Mr. R T Wasan, Head (International Business – Commercial Vehicles), Tata Motors, said, “We are proud to announce the launch of the Tata Xenon Pick-up, a product with best-in-class styling, performance, value, superior quality, comfort and safety. With the Tata Xenon, the vehicle will cater to customers aspiring to have a stylish pick-up, boasting best-in-class power, yet providing the overall performance of an efficient work-horse.”

Tata Motors too hadn’t compromised on comfort and safety for Xenon. Power steering, cushioned bucket seats with adjustable lumbar support for front passenger, and the utilitarian mobile charging point are some of the tweaks that conclude former coincide of the vehicle. Meanwhile, the latter one is meant to be supported with the retractable seatbelts, central locking and side intrusion beams which protect passengers in the event of a side impact collision.

Xenon Pick-up will be sold in Nepal at all the Tata Motors dealerships. However, the Sipradi dealerships across Nepal is said to be offering the vehicle with a warranty a 3 lakh kms or 3 years, whichever is earlier.

Tata Motors already sells Tata 207 DI Pick-up in the Large Pick-up segment and the Tata Super Ace, in the Small Pick-up segment. The Xenon pickup is a new addition to the carmaker’s pickup repertoire there.
