Mahindra XUV500 to get a price revision from 1st January

As has been expected for quite some time, Mahindra & Mahindra has finally announced the decision of increasing the price of its Mahindra XUV500 effective from the 1st of January, 2012. Multiple factors were responsible for increasing the price of this hot selling Mahindra vehicle. First of all, the initial pricing of Rs.10.8 Lakh on this vehicle was just an introductory offer. Secondly, the costs of raw materials have increased tremendously for the car maker due to the direct impact of the depreciation of Indian Rupee against the Euro and Dollar.

The price increase that Mahindra has proposed differs on the basis of variants. As per ex-showroom price in Delhi, the W6 variant is expected to increase by Rs.30,000 whereas the W8-FWD is increasing by Rs.50,000. The W8-AWD variant has been hiked by Rs.55,000.
