Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG: Geneva Motor Show

Mercedes redefined the SL styling with the 2012 SL63 AMG. Its not the aggressive look that defines the AMG, but what is inside, and Mercedes is out to prove it with the new SL63 AMG.

Under the hood is a 5.5-litre V8 twin turbo, pumping as much as 557 bhp. With all that power, the 1845kg car does a 0-100kmph in just 4.2 seconds. Mated to this motor is a seven-speed SpeedShift Automatic Gearbox, transmitting the power to the rear wheels. There is also a friendlier version of the SL, which without the AMG performance package delivers 530 hp.

While the power is as beastly as any AMG is expected to deliver, the new SL has a more friendly face unlike the flaring predecessors. There are minor tweaks on the front and rear to make it appear more solid on the outside with contour lines giving it a confident, not too overcooked look. It receives matte grey paint finish on the outside, with uncompromised AMG quality inside, including two-tone leather upholstery with carbon fiber finish.
