New base variant of Mahindra XUV500 (W4) will launch by end of October; Feature List leaked

Not to be an exception, Mahindra XUV500 was ‘rumored’ of having a new entry level variant in the pipeline, meant exclusively for a ‘reduced price tag’. Hence, now a report in industry is confirming that feature list of the same is also been leaked to them.

Henceforth, the launch of new low-end XUV is said to be concluded by the end of this month.

Continuing further, the industry is going through some rough patches of the time, where vehicles like Renault Duster, Ford EcoSport and else have penetrated the SUV segment and notched the excitement level by playing the customer-friendly price tags. In order to counter those turning aspects, Mahindra developed the trimmed-down variant of XUV500 dubbed as “W4”.

However, the leaked feature list of the vehicle is going to cream up some raunchy games in the nearby times. Hopefully, the leaked material says, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, Hill Hold, Hill Descent control, will be missed out on the safety front from the new vehicle. While cosmetically, the car is tend not to have front foglamps, twin exhaust tips, roof rails or cladding strips.

Comfort level of the car will also be crippled down tremendously by bidding off the telescopic steering, fully-automatic temperature control, power-folding side mirrors and premium fabric upholstery.

To an addition, Mahindra XUV500 W4 will drive the same powertrain that it does with ongoing ones. The 2.2L diesel engine of 140bhp and 330Nm of torque, along with the start-stop and six-speed transmission to be there. But is said to lack the 6-inch touchscreen infotainment display, DVD player, tyre pressure sensor, parking assistant, rain sensing wipers and light sensing headlamps on the trimmed version for being the cost effective part of repertoire.

Effectively, Mahindra retails the present generation XUV500 for as low as Rs. 12.01 lakh, and as high as Rs. 14.64 lakh ex-showroom Delhi.
