Next-gen Hyundai i20 had been already spied a lot of times before, yet another sighting of it came to make our excitement notched upwards again. But to remind you, the previous spy shots of the hatchback were caught under the heavy knitting of camouflage, this time some of the camo had been shredded and we are milked with a sneak peek of its bonnet.

As learnt earlier, new i20 is going to shed the curviness of the generation, and it seems true while seeing it in the spy-shot. The ‘boxiness’ can be witnessed clearly.

Though there are small cut-to-short bonnets usually found on this sort of hatchback, but the next-generation i20 is hosting a larger one to confirm more of the luxury factor, and also to take the competition a class above. Thick ‘rear pillars’ are beefing this to some added extent.

Well, said above were for the ergonomics, cosmetics set to take a place with fender connected to the body nose and also being assimilated well with the panel line. Meanwhile, Hyundai is said to bestow the audience with the unexpected tweaks with its offerings, this time it is the front parking sensor witnessed on the next-gen i20 test mule, which most of the vehicles of this segment doesn’t find it comfortable fitted in the metal so as to get the things straight to the costing context.

Engine specifications are also said to remain same with the 1.1L petrol and 1.4L diesel. But there are expectations going in market of a small turbocharger to get engulfed in the guise of new jag ‘1.0L Kappa’ to produce 120bhp (using turbocharger intercooler) in the most.
