Nissan X-Trail and National Geographic Channel Present X-Treme Trail

Nissan, Japanese automobile manufacturer and National Geographic Channel will provide the TV viewers an experience into rough and tough terrains of India, throughout its new adventure reality show known as X-Treme Trail. The six-part series starting on 5th of November is for the first time and will be telecast concurrently on Channel V, Nat Geo, Star World and Fox Traveller. Nat Geo Channel is quite famous for its powerful storytelling and unparalleled imagery and will platform the science and art of off-roading throughout eight contestants’ journey. From the training and selection to encountering the tough topography of Rajasthan dunes, dense jungles of Rajaji National Park to trans-Himalayan ranges in Ladhakh and Himachal Pradesh, the nominees will show their mettle in a sport utility vehicle from Nissan on the road – The X-Trail.

The winners will get an opportunity to pay respect to the Indian Army, once their final drive takes them to the uppermost battle field on the planet called Siachen Glacier. On the occasion of the series introduction, it revealed the driver oriented X-Treme Trail Limited Edition of X-Trail, which will be available for the price of Rs. 2,278,928. It will feature plethora of equipments and gizmos, including touchscreen navigation system, door visor set, rear spoiler, X-Treme Trail Decal and more; all of which will add ease and comfort off-roading on the rough terrains of India.

Mr. Ramon Chibb, Senior Vice President – Content of Nat Geo Network India said that National Geographic has always worked with concurring marques on creating quite a few iconic properties in history. Exploration and adventure is in the DNA of Nat Geo Channel and throughout its association with Nissan for X-Treme Trail, they will be bringing influential imagery of extreme terrains of India. The crew base of over 40 contenders, great adventure across 4000 kilometers of great terrain and gruelling 32-day shoot.

Revealing the Nissan X-Trail limited edition to correspond with the occasion, Mr. Dinesh Jain, Chief Executive Officer of Hover Automotive India, Marketing and Sales Partner of Nissan in India said that the company is quite famous for its high end products all over the world. Powering the X-Trail is a fuel efficient 2.0 litre M9R diesel engine equipped with All Mode 4×4-I System, which makes it a distinctive vehicle in its category. The X-Treme Trail will debut on 5th of November on Saturday on Nat Geo Channel, Channel V, Fox Traveller and Star World at 8 pm. Nat Geo and Nissan is also holding a contest in which, the contenders can log on to www.natgeotv.co.in/xtremetrail and give in their X-Treme adventure stories. The four best entries will win an adventure trip to Rishikesh.

National Geographic Channel India was introduced on the 1st of July in 1998, and its programming includes people, exploration and adventure, wildlife, natural history and science of the world.

Nissan Motor India Private Limited is a fully owned subsidiary of Nissan Motor Limited Japan and was established in the year 2005. It also appointed Hover Automotive India as their elite alliance partner for handling marketing and sales, after sales, dealer development and customer relationship management in India.
