Porsche 960 “Fefi” four-door coupe expecting a 2015 launch

We had previously bought you the news of Porsche working towards development of a Panamera successor that will be based on the Volkswagen group’s modular platform. This same platform underpins the upcoming Bentley and Lamborghini SUVs. In a fresher bit of news, Porsche is working on developing a rear-wheel-drive vehicle that is also based on the MSB platform.

Appearing as a four-door coupe, the engineers call the model, Fefi or Ferrari Fighter, giving a clear idea how Porsche is planning to position their upcoming vehicle. In addition, the Italian sportscar marque has also been reported working on a four-door design, though there is no official word yet. To the public, the German automaker’s Fefi will be known as the Porsche 960 when it makes a debut somewhere in 2015.

Porsche will take a more practical approach towards the 960 and opt for a mid-engine design setting performance benchmark. Sitting above the Porsche Panamera, the car will draw power from a 3.8-litre twin-turbo motor spitting out a stunning 600 hp peak power and 745 Nm peak torque. Not as good as the Ferraris, but certainly impressive for a four-door coupe. Look this space for more from Porsche.
