Renault to launch new variants of Duster, MUV and a sub-4 lakh car in India: Report

Renault forked Duster into Indian market and then tasted the blood of success; earlier the French carmaker was not having so remarkable presence in the market. Obviously we are not here to tell such stories to our viewers, but it is to inform that Renault is reported to launch variants of Duster soon on our shores, says a report on Economic Times.

Hence, the recent addition to the Renault’s repertoire was the Duster in Cosmos Blue paint job which is been rolled out in limited numbers. The market scenario on our country seems demanding more of a MUV and sub-4 lakh feels Renault India.

However, all of the aforementioned slips happened at the sidelines of 2013 Tokyo Motor Show, where the Renault Chairman of Asia Pacific Region Gilles Normand talked open heartedly to a reporter of ET.

“… The objective now is to make sure that in the next introduction of cars, we want to enter the significant segments or growing segments where we are not present today,” said Mr. Normand at the event.

Continuing further he said, “If I give you some concrete example, one of the segments which is growing in India is MUV segment, which is fast growing. So it is one of the possibilities.”

Additionally, he also re-counted that 40% Indian audience falls in the category of buying a car below tag of Rs. 4 lakh. So it remains a dream too for the Renault India to explore this pace with one of their products too.

“These two segments are quite important for us…We are definitely working on the next wave of products, out of which one will be connected to a fast growing segment in India and the other one will be from the global line up for India market,” said Normand without dragging a lot.

And when asked to comment on the dripping sales of Duster, he said, “We are going to manage the life-cycle of this product, you can expect that in the coming months, there will be variations of the Duster.”

Hope so, that answered all of our questions, which the audience is been Googling since days. Though, we expect the ground still remain still shaky what the Renault is going to launch here by means of new Duster variants, whether it would be “Special Editions”, “Facelift”, or “4WD Duster”.

Right now the brand is busy focusing on expansion of their existence here on our nation with the number of dealerships. So it means there is ample of time for the aforementioned bits to perform their roles here.
