Skoda Auto are in plans of getting their Mission L concept car to the Indian market as soon as possible. However, this as soon as possible means a late 2013 0r early 2014 entry. Skoda’s new design language boasts of having a crisp and clean elemental structure to it. This car could well be the global replacement for the Laura and it remains to be seen if Skoda actually get the Laura replaced or if this car would continue alongside the Laura.
Most likely, this one would be placed just above the soon to be launched Skoda Rapid/Lauretta and below that of the Skoda Laura. The ageing Octavia would be replaced with this one it seems. As of now, apart from the Octavia, Skoda India doesn’t have a car in the Rs 8-12 category and the Mission L would be a perfect thing. Rumors are afloat that there would be two engine options, one – the existing 1.8 liter TSI detuned for more economy while the second would be the detuned version of the 2.0 liter diesel. This car would be launched first in the Chinese market and then probably India or Russia.
