The auto industry is as it is witnessing a slump in the sales and in a bid to boost up the sales for the upcoming festive season, manufacturers are trying their best to bring in the cash registers ringing by offering huge discounts. Already Fiat is offering the base Punto petrol at a mouth watering price point of Rs 3.87 lakhs. It seems that more and more manufacturers are coming up with offers on their petrol variants rather than the diesel engined ones.
Currently in India due to the rising prices of petrol, buyers are wary of investing in a petrol engined car and hence to sweeten the deal, manufacturers are resorting to huge price cuts and also offers. Most of the diesel cars have got a minimum waiting period of 3 months. As high as 25 percent off the ex-show room price of petrol cars are being offered by manufacturers. Many companies are additionally offering free insurance as also extended warranty or maintenance packages. Diwali would be the harbinger of the sales for most of the companies and in this race; each manufacturer wants to outdo itself. Diesel cars wouldn’t carry any sort of discounts or schemes with them.
