Tata Motors launches next-generation Tata Prima heavy trucks in Qatar

Tata Motors is touted to be focusing the passenger vehicles and heavy vehicles with same priority at same time, must be a tough time for the Tata officials at their desks. Amidst, the hustle and bustle of construction in Middle East, the India’s largest automobile manufacturer launched three new next-generation heavy trucks from its PRIMA range of commercial vehicles in Qatar, in association with, Al-Hamad Automobiles.

Taking the crown of Gulf region into its consideration, the Tata Truck offerings had not only to survive the bruises of construction sites, but they also have to stand affirm against the heat and sun of the arid desert.

Tata Motors in Qatar has positioned its products as a world-class offering with a low cost of ownership.

The models introduced in Qatar are –

  • Tata PRIMA 4438S (4X2) tractor head
  • Tata PRIMA 4038K (6X4) Construction tipper
  • Tata PRIMA 4738K (8X4) On & Off Road tipper

Mr. Ravindra Pisharody, Executive Director, Commercial Vehicles Business Unit, Tata Motors, “The launch of the Tata Prima brand in Qatar, is an important milestone in Tata Motors’ continued expansion in the Qatar market and the GCC region. A new next-generation range of commercial vehicles by Tata Motors, the Tata Prima brand is shaped by technology, know-how and expertise from across the globe. The range being launched today is world-class in every sense, giving the Qatari customer competitive business advantages, with the trusted credentials of the Tata Motors brand.”

Mr. Pisharody went on to add, “We cherish our partnership with Al-Hamad Automobiles, a company with proven strengths and experience in the commercial vehicle market of Qatar. Al-Hamad has been our partner for almost 15 years now and though this partnership we are geared up to deliver a blend of high quality and unique value to the Qatari customer.

All the three Prima trucks for Qatar are powered by latest Cummins tech with an output of 380HP, with transmission and axle technology borrowed from leading suppliers across the globe.

The ergonomically designed dashboard, air-conditioned cabin with lugs of space for driver and its assistant, reclining seats with arm rests for added comfort, an adjustable steering system, a music system, and Global Positioning System (GPS) are standard features for the Prima trucks in Qatar.

Tata PRIMA 4438S (4X2) tractor head:

44 Ton GCM/380 HP Cummins Engine/9 speed Eaton Transmission/315/80 R22.5 Tyres/110 kmph. Suitable for all kind of Applications – General Cargo: Container/Refer Van/Car Carriers, Industrial: Cement/Steel/Machinery Movement, Construction: Tip Trailers/Bulkers etc.

Tata PRIMA 4038K (6X4) Construction tipper:

18 Cu.M Box Tipper/380HP Cummins Engine/9 Speed Eaton Transmission/315/80 R22.5 Tyres/ Bogie Suspension. Suitable for all type of Construction Applications e.g. Aggregates Movement/Tankers and some of the municipal application like Garbage Compactors, Skip Loaders etc.

20 Cu.M Box & 19 Cu.M Scoop Tipper/380HP Cummins Engine/9 Speed Eaton Transmission/12R24 ON and Off Road Tyres/ Bogie Suspension.
