Toyota releases new video of the 2014 Land Cruiser Prado

Toyota Motors had launched the present model of the Land Cruiser Prado in the year 2009. Since then the car was surviving without any kind of makeover. In these years the car received only a new suspension. The rest of the car remained unchanged but not anymore. Recently it was revealed by the company that the Land Cruiser Prado is going to get a much needed facelift. It was also revealed that the American version of the Toyota Prado called as the Lexus GX, will also receive a facelift.

A few days back the company had displayed a few images of the face lifted Prado on their official website. The website also hosted sketches new face lifted model of Lexus GX. Now it has been found out that the company has released a video of the new face lifted 2014 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado. This video is already circulating freely over the web. The images and the videos give a clear picture of the changes that will be seen in this new model. Looking at the video and images, it can be said that the car is retaining the same profile and has received only a few minor styling tweaks which have made the car look more aggressive and sporty. The Prado has been a very popular car throughout the globe. It is best known for its amazing range of convenience and comfort as well for its extra-ordinary off road abilities.

Toyota Land Cruiser Prado was launched by Toyota Motors Corporation in the year 1984. The predecessor of the Land Cruiser Prado was launched by the company as the 70 series. This series was also called as the Bundera model. This series stayed in the market until 1990. The first gen model of the Prado was on sale until 1996. Later on the 70 series was launched as the 90 series of Prado and it stayed on sale till 2002. The Prado 120 series entered into the market as the 3rd gen model in 2002. Currently, the 4th gen model of Prado i.e. the 150 series is on sale. The car offers a front engine and an all wheel drive system. The engine is matted to a 5 speed or a 6 speed gearbox.

The video shows the new Prado and we can spot quite a number of changes. Starting with the front fascia, the car is endorsing the new formulated grille, re-designed headlights, new fog lamps, a redesigned bumper and modified all alloy wheels. The new headlamps now have LED day time running lights at their bottom. Talking about the rear, the car now sees newly designed tail lights as well as a modified number plate. The interior too has received some styling tweaks like the woody components on the dashboard. The center console too exhibits new central dial and some reshaped buttons.

It is being expected that the car will carry forward the same engine specs. Therefore the 2014 Land Cruiser Prado will continue to be powered by the D-4D turbo diesel engine of 3 liter capacity. Although it has been revealed that the engine will be tuned to a more powerful state this time. The present engine in Prada is capable of churning out a power of 170.6 bhp and a maximum torque of 410 Nm. The car is offering a 5 speed auto transmission along with an all wheel drive system.

The company has not yet given any info regarding the launch of the vehicle but we are expecting the 2014 Land Cruiser Prado to be available in India by the middle of 2014. The current model of Prado is offered at a price of Rs 76.2 lacs.
