Swedish luxury auto maker Volvo’s Indian unit has recorded a record growth of about 188 percent in the month of January this year against the same period last year. It sold about 75 cars in January 2013 in comparison to the 26 units it sold last year. The highest ever sale growth can be mainly attributed to the growing demand of Volvo S60 sedan and Volvo XC60 SUV.
Speaking on the performance, Managing Director, Tomas Ernberg said that they are quite happy to have a great start in the New Year. He further said that they closed last year with rise of over 150 percent over the last year and with the current January sale figures company is happy to witness 240 percent YoY (year on year) sales in January.
He also said that company is overwhelmed with the support of the dealers and faith of the customers. Volvo will continue to expand itself in the country as it feels that India hold incredible potential for the brand and company will be concentrating on exploiting every possible opportunity. He further added that the company will be working on its strategy to serve their customers better by delivering best possible service to the customers with the best value and at competitive prices.
